Veterinary Referral Surgical Practice (VRSP) is Atlanta’s oldest, most established veterinary surgical practice. With more than 35 years of experience, VRSP offers state-of-the-art advancements paired with surgical expertise in orthopedic, neurologic and soft tissue procedures. Throughout our growth and success, we’ve remained small by design. Our size ensures we always remain true to our calling and our commitment to personalized care. Working alongside our sister practice, Atlanta Animal Rehabilitation and Fitness (AARF), we are one of the few sources for surgical care that spans injury to recovery. Through innovative medicine and modern technology, we offer the highest level of care and management of surgical diseases, soft tissue repairs, orthopedics and neurosurgery. Our diagnostic advancements include CT, ultrasound and MRI. We work closely with your family veterinarian to ensure close communication and partnership for the health of your pet. With three locations in Roswell, Marietta and Woodstock, there is a VRSP near you.
Our highly trained, experienced and board-certified surgeons offer compassionate care in orthopedic, soft tissue, oncologic and neurologic care.
The surgeons of VRSP bring invaluable compassion and expertise to every case we treat. We know your pet is a treasured member of the family and you can rest assured he or she is receiving the best treatment possible. At VRSP, we specialize in the medical and surgical treatment of:
- Juvenile bone diseases
- Knee injuries (cruciate disease and patella luxation)
- Elbow and hip diseases
- Ligament and tendon injury
- Regenerative medicine, arthritis
- Fracture repair
- Limb deformity correction
By offering in-house, physical rehabilitation, we can provide a complete continuum of care, with everything your pet may need from injury to recovery.
Soft tissue surgery is sometimes required to treat traumatic, acquired or congenital conditions of the respiratory, cardiothoracic, gastrointestinal or urogenital systems, as well as issues with the ears, mouth, nose and throat. Our surgeons will discuss both medical and surgical options for treating these conditions and will provide experience and expertise in getting your pet back to good health.
Our dedicated surgeons treat, and in many cases, cure pets with cancerous tumors of the skin, muscle, bone, lungs, heart and abdominal organs. Our surgeons have advanced training in the removal of tumors and the reconstruction of tissues surrounding the tumor. All to help your pet live healthier, and longer.
When it comes to weakness or lameness, it’s critical to understand whether the root cause is orthopedic or neurologic – or if it’s a measure of both. VRSP’s surgeons and neurologist collaborate to provide the highest level of care. Pairing our surgeons’ expertise with non-invasive imaging like MRI, CT and digital radiology allows an advantageous treatment plan to be implemented. In most cases, rehabilitation is important to yield the fastest and most complete return of function. With VRSP’s in-house physical rehabilitation center, you can be assured that our surgeons, neurologist and therapists are working as a team to provide the best outcome possible.
